Dear Members,

I have got my GC through Employment base preferrence, I will be eligible for my Citizenship on October, 2010. My question is that, I have changed my job since the day my GC got approved and am also working in totally different category job(Didn't find same category job). Is there any problem for Naturalization interview? Is any one went through in same situation & passed the Interview?

I would greatly appreciated your concerns

You will be fine. They will question your good morale, language skills, civics knowledge. IOs don't care to know if you got your PhD or opened your own business in the field you were sponsored. Make sure you have all taxes filed every year. I was in the same situation....never asked anything during the process and/or interview.Good luck!!

Thanks Andis for your prompt response and share your experienced. I have been paying tax since 2002 when i started Job on H1B, Should I submit only last five years tax return or the begining of the year of H1B status?

Thanks again,

If I remember i did not submit any tax returns with my N-400 application. You may/will need tax returns at the interview. Have your tax transcripts ready from IRS before the interview ( USCIS will sent you a letter 1 month before scheduled interview requesting for tax transcripts call IRS toll free number and ask for it). Again I was never asked to show any tax returns or transcripts during the interview.

You are lucky dawg! I believe i have submitted my w2 & tax return when i filed for the AOS I-485 application, I think USCIS track old filed info & made the file green flag before they have schedule for interview. or maybe they have access to the IRS computer system that either you pay tax or not.(I am guessing)

Thanks again.

Hi,

Read the naturalization guide. They have a check list and you can go by that. If you didn't submit something and they need it, they will send you a letter and ask you to bring it during your interview.
