I don't have specific info about Mumbai, but this is the list of vaccines posted on the Dept. of State website

Effective December 14, 2009, the HPV and zoster vaccines are no longer required for immigrant visa medical examinations.

The following vaccinations are required for immigration purposes:

Hepatitis A

Hepatitis B

Influenza

Influenza type b (Hib)

Measles

Meningococcal

Mumps

Penumococcal

Pertussis

Polio

Rotavirus

Rubella

Tetanus and diphtheria toxoids

Varicella

Let me know what the docs at Breach Candy say. My spouse will be going there too, once her petition is approved that is...

kapad,

Here is Mumbai specific list: http://mumbai.usconsulate.gov/media/pdf-visas/panel_phy_mumbai_09.pdf

If you would like to save some money, first go to the local doctor with the above list of vaccinations. They will check the blood and verify what vaccinations are needed and provide the report. They might charge little less than the U.S approved panel physicians. You can produce this report when you have actual medical appointment.

In India, typical medical cost for this is $100 to $200.

Thanks for the reply. The list of vaccination is huge. Given the fact that my spouse donst have any record, do you think they will administer all this vaccines on the same day? In that case my spouse will be yelling for help..... :help::help::luv::huh:

The question is will the doctors in Breach Candy approve any other doctors certification that my spouse was administered certain vaccines a few days before the interview???/ :bonk::bonk::bonk::bonk::bonk:

Even if your wife doesn't have any record, blood test will reveal what all are needed by the physician. He will prepare the letter accordingly. Normally, U.S panel physician will accept this letter.

My wife's both parents are doctors and he prepared the list and Chennai U.S panel physician accepted it.

The below will be conducted by the U.S panel physician.

Physical examination - Rs.800/-

X-Ray chest - Rs.300/-

HIV& V.D.R.L - Rs.900/-

Sputum Test - Rs.390/-

The below may or may not be done by U.S panel physician. But if you do by a third party physician, you may get a cheaper deal (worth saving couple of thousands rupees). Also, the physician will not give all vaccinations to the applicant. They will analyze the blood and only necessary one will be given. Rest all will be noted on the letter that it is found in the body.

D.P.T - Rs. 63/-

T.D. Rs. 58/-

Oral Polio Rs.110/-

Hepatitis B Rs. 387/- (adult) Rs.238/- (paediatric)

MMR Rs.133/-

Varicella Rs.1450/-

Hib Rs.450/-

Measles Vaccine Rs.85/-

Pneumococcal Vaccine Rs.1150/- (adult) Rs.3932/- (paediatric)

Influenza Vaccine - Rs.450/-

Tdap Rs.700/-

Hepatitis A Rs.1650/- (adult) Rs.956/- (paediatric)

Meningococcal Rs.955/-

Hepatitis A+B Rs.1295/- (adult) Rs.726/- (paediatric)

HPV Rs.2800/-

Hi Loto,

My parents are in Mumbai awaiting IR-5.

Does every immigrant need to get the complete set of vaccines?

How does one find a doctor who knows what is needed?

Thanks

Mahesh Gajanan

Every immigrant does need to get the age-appropriate vaccines if they haven't already.
