travel to another country on receiving K 1 visa

My fiance and I need to go to India. However he still hasn't got his interview date yet (London Embassy)

Q1. If he gets his interview whilst he is in India, can he change the date? and will it be a long time before they give his next date. On one of the forms it does ask if there are plans for upcoming travel, so we are going to put those dates down and make a note to tell them.

Q2. If his visa interview comes BEFORE we go to India and he is APPROVED a K1 visa, is he able to visit another country BEFORE he enters USA. (Im aware he cant travel AFTER he enters USA, unless he gets advance parole)

Advance parole is used to reenter the US. It does not apply to other countries.
