Thanks again everyone!

Thanks for the heads up Aussie Angel! I will make sure to have my wife notify them.

Congrats Kelli! LOL, I almost did that (me driving in Sydney). I turned onto George St. and almost turned into the right lane. My wife alerted me before I made that mistake lol. I just played it off like I was cutting the corner tight lol. She just looked at me rolling her eyes lol.

Kath, I see Ohio State won again. :)

Niphredil, I hear ya. I was stressed up until the date. However, you can help curb the stress by getting all the copies filed. We went through it 3 times. We read the requirements sheet and ordered everything according to it. We ignored the ones that didn't apply or were sent to the NVC. The only thing I would recommend bringing is some up to date financials. The AoS should be valid for 6 months from when it was submitted (ours was 3 months old) but I brought extra current paystubs just in case.

Hi Angela and all you other luscious Aussies, just a quick note

Aussies living overseas can get on the overseas electoral roll and still choose to vote,

they dont get fined if they fail to vote but they may be removed from the roll for the next election.

Many choose to get a postal ballot if they live too far from a consulate, and if you dont enrol as an overseas voter before 3 years has passed you wont be eligible.

Hope this helps, but if you want to return to Australia to live it may be more important to you.

when you file for the AOS.. change of status thingo - that you do after you get married... do they do a recheck of financial support like they did in the beginning?

ok, i posted this in the AOS section, but thought that I would post it in here to see if any of you guys can help...

Ok, so I got a RFE, asking for a few more things, then at the end it said that my joint sponsor doesnt meet the poverty guidelines and said I need another JS. Well, thats easy cause we already have someone who is above the PG, but my question is this....

when filing out the form for the new JS, do they tick that they are the only joint sponsor, or the second JS (as the other joint sponsor doesnt make enough, they should be wiped, shouldn't they?)This is for the I-864 form.

Any help would be appreciated!

Kellie

Hey Kath, I am glad that you a good day! I am hoping to make a pav for Christmas, I don't know how I will go as I have never made one before!

As for the silly RFE, I don't know what happened, but we have another joint sponsor that make well above the poverty guidelines, so I shall be sending that off hopefully Monday. I am so over all this #######, I just want to get back into the workforce, which means I have been getting really homesick, thinking that this will never end. Oh well, I will see how it goes this time around.

No snow yet, but it has been really chilly! I love it!

Take care!
