If anyone's dealth with spouse emmigrating from Peru...do birth/marriage certificates need to have "stamps" from Interior and Foreign ministries? As well as having been translated by them only? What a pain, There is no mention of this in the NVC site from the US embassy.

In Peru birth and marriage certificates need to be stamped by RENIEC IF they are from "provincia" i.e. they were originally emitted in some part of Peru other than Lima. The US Embassy in Lima accepts both spanish and english documents, but if you are dealing with somebody in the US (NVC, USCIS), you might need it translated for them.
