Waiting for Packet 3 from Montreal Consulate

Hi folks,

I'm new here and am going a little bit crazy. We filed our I-129F a few months ago, and received a notice a month ago from the NVC that our file had been approved and would be sent to the US Consulate in Montreal for processing. I have read that I should expect to receive a "packet 3" from the Consulate here, but I've heard nothing. Is it normal for it to take a month? Who can I call to check on this? I've tried all the numbers, including the ones you pay for, and emailed every address I can find, with no response.

I'm sure these have gotten lost in the mail before.

I would be SO grateful if anyone could actually give me an answer on this!!

THANKS!!

You can try to contact US Embassy in Canada where the interview of your fiance will be held. Sometimes they dont send the Packet 3 or 4 anymore. In my case 2 months after receiving the letter from NVC and still no packet received or mail from US Embassy, I sent them an email giving them my reference number that is mention in the letter from NVC. They replied back to my email informing me to print the reply and download the forms and instruction in preparation for my interview which are the forms they send in the Packet 3 or 4. Procedures are different from country to country. In Philippines where I am from you have to call the customer service toll number to schedule an interview for I-129F applications.

Well first, Welcome!

Alright, so what you want to do is call Department of State (DOS) I don`t know if you know about it already, if you do than skip this! The number is 202-663-1225. Press 1, than 0 and wait until someone picks up. They are open from 8:30 to 5pm except Wednesday when they open at 11:00. You`ll need your Montreal case #, it`s starts with MTL (it should be in your NVC letter). DOS will be able to tell you if Montreal has received your petition from NVC and if your P3 has been sent to you. This is also the number you`ll call to see if your P3 has been logged in by Montreal once you ship it back, and the number where you`ll get your interview date from.

Now with Montreal, I don`t know if you`ve read any other posts, but the consulate is very back logged, so expect a long wait with everything. Also, from what I`ve seen they don`t seem to reply to e-mails quite often if at all. And they do not take phone calls.

Good luck, and stay positive even though it feels like Montreal is taking forever, you`ll get there one day!

:)
