transit visas and flight issues for Kenyans on K-1

Hi,

My fiance is a Kenyan citizen and he was recently approved for a K-1 fiance visa. We are trying to book his flight to the US, but have heard that traveling through certain countries (even just connecting flights) in certain countries requires a transit visa and can cause detainment or refusal in Nairobi, etc.

If anyone has any advice on countries with the least problems, please let me know as we would like to book his ticket as soon as possible.

Good place to check is visa

Note that he is not considered a resident of the US with the K-1 visa, he has to have the green card.
