I am a U.S. Citizen on assignment in the Philippines with a US Company. My wife and I are expecting a child soon and have we reviewed the CRBA form.

Question 12 on the CRBA form asks for the exact dates of physical presence in the USA prior to the child's birth. Can anyone clarify whether I have to detail each period (exact dates) that I have been in the USA between the time I was born and the child's birth date? Does anyone know how accurate this information has to be? Can the US Dept of Homeland Security provide me with this information? I have traveled a lot since my birth (35+ years ago) and I honestly cannot remember beyond the last 3 years each date that I have been in the USA vs. outside.

Any help/clarification would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

MG

You don't need exact dates, rough dates will do. What they are looking for is that you are elligible to file, ie had at least 5 years in the USA, 2 of which after age 16 (or age 14, can't remember.).
