She could not understand the lyrics, and she couldn't believe all of David Lee Roth's screaming. The funny part was that I played the song (as it appeared on the radio) at top volume (Marshall Stacks-style) for full-effect!

If you're gonna get her to like rock, you should first start her on some of the greats like skynyrd, black flag, or some Iron Maiden. You just can't go wrong with Maiden.

She heard me listening to Bullet For My Valentine several times over the past year, and for Metalcore, them and In This Moment don't bring on headaches. :bonk:

so Megadeth and Slayer might be a bit too much for her tastes i suspect. Maybe try her out on Ozomatli and slide into some heavier stuff

Ah, Megadeth and Slayer. They played an intrinsic part in my teenage years, culminating in my seeing those Metal Gods live at the tender ages of 15/16 (along with AC/DC, Metallica, Guns N Roses, Motorhead and Iron Maiden).

Those were the days, I tell ya.

Sigh.

I <3 You Mags. My first concert (that I wasn't in diapers for) was Judas Priest and Iron Maiden (dual headline), I was 7 and my cousin who was babysitting me just couldn't pass up the opportunity. My very first concert was my parents took me to lynyrd skynyrd opening for The Who. Seriously, can yo get any better than those two concerts for your first two?

While AC/DC is great Marc, they simply don't compare to Maiden. I like Brian Johnson, and Back in Black is a top 5 all time album, but Bonn Scott is a rock god.

This guy is the GOD of guitar!

I am comforted that we can come to an agreement on something as monumental as metal Marc. I am hopeful that this can lead to more substantive discussion. :D

He is a rock god. I like to consider randy rhodes to be a rock jesus. Claptons guitar work in the yarbirds and cream are really unreal, even by today's standards.

You are totally correct sir!

I was a sound man for years back in the 80's and had the opportunity to meet lots of people. Miles Davis, Chick Corea, Romantics, Huey and the News, Jimmy Clif, Peter Tosh, (These two guys roaches were bigger than any joint seen today) Opened for the Flock of seagulls.

Set-up BB Kings guitar (yes I did touch Lucille!) Spyra Jyra. Man what a time that was!

Honestly Marc, for that mere fact, I will refrain from some of the more heineous remarks. That is really cool and I am truly envious.
