Hello Dear Friends,

This thread has been created to share your timeline/info/experience with NVC whose I-130 has recently approved. In other words, I am just checking if there's someone whose I-130 recently approved and waiting for NVC to receive case and assign case number. How long usually is it taking NVC to assign case number after USCIS approval hard copy?

About me:

07/20- I-130 approved

07/26 - NOA2 hardcopy received

waiting for NVC to receive my case and assign case number.

My NVC Journey

10/12/10 –NVC received the file

10/15/10 -NVC case # generated

10/18/10 -Called NVC and gave both beneficiary and petitioner email addresses

10/19/10 - Beneficiary emailed DS-3032 to NVC and also mailed the hard copy

10/26/10 - Called NVC and got the IIN

10/26/10 - Paid AOS fee $ 88.00

10/27/10 - AOS fee status shows "PAID"

10/27/10 - AOS package expressed mailed (next day delivery)

10/30/10 - IV fee bill generated and paid immediately

10/30/10 - Received AOS fee bill and DS-3032 kit and also received the confirmation of receipt of DS-3032

11/04/10 - IV fee bill status shown as "paid"

11/04/10 - Sent IV package (next day delivery)

11/06/10 - Received IV instructions packet (packet 3) via email

11/08/10 - AOS entered into NVC system

11/16/10 - AOS was reviewed and OK'ed

11/18/10 - IV entered into NVC system

11/24/10 - IV package was reviewed and generated artificial RFE for missing photographs (which was actually submitted with the package)

11/26/10 - RFE response mailed out

11/29/10 - RFE response delivered to NVC

12/08/10 - RFE response entered into NVC system

12/15/10 - SIF :)

12/15/10 - Case Complete :)

01/03/11 - Interview date assigned for Feb 15 @ 1:30 PM

01/17/11 - Medical done ! Passed

01/25/11 - Re-scheduled the interview for Feb 1 @ 1:00 PM

02/01/11 - Interview @ 1:00 PM - Approved :)

02/03/11 - Visa picked up from USEM

02/12/11 - POE @ JFK

Mine was only a few days, if that. But, I never received anything from them in the mail about it. I wasted 2 months sitting around waiting for a number when they already had one for me and didn't let me know.

Keep calling the NVC and go through the automated responses. You'll have to give it the number that's listed on your approval letter and the automated machine will tell you your case number once it's in their system.

USCIS Journey

1-25-10: Mailed I-130

1-28-10: USCIS receives I-130

2-02-10: USCIS initiates processing

3-25-10: I-130 approved

-- Two months wasted waiting for case number which was already assigned without notifying us. >=( --

-- In the long run, not a bad thing, as we saved up more money. --

NVC Journey:

4-05-10: NVC initiates processing

6-01-10: Paid AOS fee / Completed DS-3032

6-04-10: Paid IV fee

6-10-10: Mailed AOS

6-14-10: NVC receives AOS

7-06-10: Mailed DS-230

7-15-10: NVC receives DS-230

7-23-10: Medical exam appointment

8-04-10: SIF & Case Closed

8-13-10: Interview letter received

9-09-10: Visa interview in London at 8:30 am ***APPROVED!***

Seems like your priority date was not current, is that why NVC didn't inform you that they received your case?

well, I have been checking NVC Automated Response 50 times a day biggrin.gifand tired of hearing "There's no record of this case...."

No luck yet :(

Aug 12,2010 : send DS-3032 by email

I have just spoken with an operator at NVC. She asked me to send a copy of my approval notice to NVCresearch@state.gov for research and I sent it immidiately. Lets see what they come up with now.
