PHILIPPINE GREEN PASSPORT

hello fellow pinoys....i need some enlightenment here...i am a green passport holder (non-machine readable)...i read posts in the net that in some other countries (not mentioned what are those countries) non-machine readable passport is no longer accepted...i have checked the dfa official site and it was stated that the green passport is valid until its expiration date. i understand that according to the usem posted bulletin, passport should be valid in at least 6 months - it was never mentioned whether it should be the maroon(e-passport)or green(non-mr)...mine will be expired in 2012 so that's 2 years from now....anyone's advise please? do i need to renew my green for an e-passport? any insights is highly appreciated

7-6-10: Submitted additional evidence of current sustained income (paychecks)

7-13-10: Visa Approved! (FINALLY!!!)

7-21-10: VISA IN HAND! (Thank God! The wait is finally over.)

If you could renew it, do it here in the Philippines. Passport renewal is a lot cheaper in the Philippines.

If you could renew it, do it here in the Philippines. Passport renewal is a lot cheaper in the Philippines.

.....and a LOT faster...at least in my case.

hi kabayan,dont worry about green passport (i have mine too).as for my experience,i got NO hassles and any disappointments from anything or anybody using my green passport as i entered here in the USA (last dec.2009), facing the fact that it will expired this aug.10 (but i already set an appointment with the phils.embassy at washington,DC on friday for my passport renewal)..so,stop think and bother yourself about it anymore..Goodluck!!
