Wrong Consulate

OK So after a month hanging around the NVC, I have just heard that our case was transferred to Montreal instead of Vancouver. I live in Alberta, the province next to BC where Vancouver is. I double checked our forms and we indicated we wanted things sent to Vancouver. I've never been to Montreal, and I'm travelling with my child, and we have family to stay with in Vancouver who could help me get around and figure this stuff out. How much trouble is it to get it transferred to Vancouver? Someone else told me they tried this but their case ended up getting lost in the transfer.

I'm not impressed. Surely there is an easy solution to this and not acres of red tape to run through... ?

Get on the phone to NVC right away to get them to fix this as this is their mistake.

Also, contact Montreal to let them know that your case is arriving (put URGENT in the subject and make sure you list your USCIS case number). You DO NOT want to be in Montreal so don't settle for having your petition go there. It is a dreadfully slow consulate
