Poor dog. It's a shame we keep hearing stories like these, you'd think people would know better by now than to leave their pets in a closed car, for any amount of time ...

You would think, but people do it to their kids too, so apparently there is no end in sight to the stupid.

Ah yes, we had a couple of babies forgotten in cars last year in Brazil too. I actually felt sorry for the dad in one of the cases though. Routine beat him there. He used to leave the house, drop the baby at the daycare, drop the older kid in school, drop the wife at work and drive to work himself.

One day they were busy and left home late (if I recall correctly) so he dropped the wife at work first, then the older kid, then he drove to work, at which point he had already forgotten the rounds had gone differently that time around and he forgot his baby in the backseat in the garage at work.

Baby died, he was desperate, it was pretty sad as he obviously did go to jail but seemed already in self punishment by then. I personally dunno how one would forget, but I don't have kids, plus I do little things in the car sometimes, but never a pet, an important paper, or my purse. I can't see myself forgetting my kid, even on a busy/late day.

I once put hair spray under my armpits - someone had switched em round - its exactly the same

I didn't go to jail but I looked like Larry King for a while
