manila interview question

So my fiance goes for her interview this friday, and I have a few questions to make sure we are prepared. I talked to my lawyer who originally did all the paperwork and sent it in, and he told me that all those files were already sent to the consulate that she really shouldnt need much to bring, I sent the same packet to her so she has it and she has everything else needed, but the NOA1. I never received the NOA1, just an email from my lawyer with the reciept #, I did receive a letter when I got the NOA2 and she has a copy of that. If she does not have this are they going to deny this application? And does anyone know from experience if the consulate gets the same packet that was sent to the uscis when you started the petition?

As a rule the embassy will have all the information that was sent to USCIS & NVC.

Even so, many will take as much paperwork as they can...just in case they are asked for it.

As to the NOA1...do not worry. They will not ask for it!

They won't ask for the NOA1. I brought a photocopy of the I129 that my fiancé filed just in case the Embassy lost it. Tell her not to use folders cuz they aren't necessary. She has to show her email appointment confirmation letter and one valid ID at the entrance.

These were the papers I brought:

DS Forms (You'll submit this at the cubicle right next to the entrance of the non immigrant section)

*I sorted them into 2 sets and used paper clips to bind them.

DS 156K

DS 157

DS 156

DS 157

DS 156

+ email appointment confirmation

Certificates (You'll submit these papers to the prescreener)

NBI Clearance

Birth Certificate

CENOMAR

Proof of Existing Relationship (You'll submit these papers to the prescreener)

chat logs

Skype call logs

emails

snail mails

Jordan's AT&T phone logs

photos

+++Fiance's Letter of Intent (place this on the top)

Evidence of Support (You'll submit these papers to the prescreener)

I-134

Letter of Employmen

2 years of W2's

2 years of ITRs

pay stubs

*Bring pay stubs cuz I made a huge mistake of not bringing any and it obviously cost me.

Good luck!

sounds good but what is 2 years of ITRs? and my lawyer only did one year of w-2's and does it matter that my banks statements and letter of employment are from november of last year when I first filed it?

They will only be needing last year's income tax return. I brought 3 years of my fiance's w2 but they still wanted to see his tax return. Letter of employment should be a recent one (like maybe about a month ago). As for the bank statement, my fiance didn't send me so I didn't bring one but you can send yours to your fiance, it might help.

Good luck..

One year of Income Tax Return and one year of W2's. I brought two years just in case because it's better to be safe than sorry. Some consuls ask for pay stubs while others don't. It varies. Don't you have a current one? I don't think that will matter much as long as you can provide recent pay stubs to prove that you're still employed. good.gif If you can ask for another employment letter then that would be great.

I sent her my last years w-2's and also a few of my recent check stubs, I think she will be ok. What kind of questions did they ask you and do they tell you if you are approved when your there, because we wanted to book the flight for first week of august that I thought would be enough time for her to receive the visa in the mail.

You need to give her your '09 Income Tax Return because the CO will ask for it. If she doesn't have it and the CO requests to see it, she'll be asked to return and go through what I did.

Basic ones, really.

What is your name?

When is your birthday?

What is your petitioner's name?

When is his birthday?

What's his job?

Does he speak Tagalog? (He saw a chat log where Jordan called me a loca loca)

It took about 3 minutes or so. The CO will tell you whether or not you're approved at the end of the interview. She'll basically have to go back to her seat and wait again. If she lives in Manila, it usually takes 3 days but due to backlogs, the guys who passed the interview on the same date as mine received their visas 8 days after the approval. It varies. I'm hoping to get mine this week so I can leave mid-August.

Remind her to take the CFO seminar before she leaves.

Hi everyone! First of all god luck to you on the interview, I am sure you will be approved but it cant hurt to bring as much evidence as possible. Better to have too much than be missing something! I highlighted what you said at the end of this because I told my fiancee something about a seminar she needed and a stamp or sticker that would be put on her passport so she can leave the country. Is the CFO Seminar what I read about and if so what exactly is it?

Thanks

she already did the CFO seminar, its basically just a class that explains what you can experience when you leave the philippines, but is required to leave, its like 650 pesos and dont take too long, its varies on which country they are going to on when they can attend, the usa is the most common.

The USCIS sends your I-129 packet to the NVC. The NVC sends your packet to the Embassy in Manila. Then, after the interview, the Embassy sends your packet back to the U.S. You can expect to see your packet again when you attend your adjustment of status interview.

Good luck with you interview!:)
