Purchasing PI Domestic Airline Tickets Online

My fiancee and kids are planning on going back to Mindanao for a couple weeks before coming to the US. I want to buy the airline tickets online through Cebu Pacific or Philippine Airlines. Has anybody ever done this before? If so, which airline did you purchase the tickets through? Last year I had looked at buying Superferry tickets online for her mother to come visit her. However, their website stated that if you used a credit card to purchase the tickets, you would have to either show the credit card or a photocopy of the credit card when picking up your tickets to help prevent fraud. Obviously I don't want a copy of my credit card floating around the Philippines if I don't need to. Do the airilines have the same type credit card policies?

Thanks in advance for any help.

You will need to show the same info for PAL not sure about CP,look at there website I'm sure it's the same. If your worried about your credit card go to a local travel agent in the US.

I have bought from Cebu Pacific online for my lady a few times and had no problems,

I do have problems with Philippine Airlines they dont like my credit card even when it is me flying, there online purchessing

just will not take my card, so i have to go thru a online like Booking Buddy and pay almost twice the price.

Check Zest air they have good prices for travel in the Philippines, I have not used them yet but may soon.

Thanks for the replies. CP prices weren't too bad, so I may look at using them.

Thanks again.

you can try PAL and CEBU PACIFIC... zest air is also good with its latest Php8.00 fare promo.

just bought my flight from Manila to Kalibo online at Zest Air's website for only Php47.00 all in!!

I'm now in Boracay at the moment.

what they would normally ask is a photocopy or a copy of your credit card that was used to purchase the ticket online.

They usually ask for the credit card. But if the one purchased the ticket is not the passenger they ask for the copy of the credit card that can show clearly the card number and the name of the card holder. Aside from that you would also have to show your ID.

This is what I did. Since I don't like credit cards. I asked my mom if I can use her credit card. I took a photo of the credit card with her ID.

Aside from that she let me carry her ID to show proof that I had her permission to use the card online.

However, when I was at the airport for check in... I only showed them the picture that i took via my camera. They only checked the name on the card and the number.

So far, didn't have any problems with the tickets.

I booked my Davao to Manila flight online too at Cebu Pacific website.

I haven't tried PAL though.

i hope this helps.

I just purchased two tickets for Jean and her mother to fly rountrip to Manila via Cebu Pacific's online site. There were no issues with the airline and the fact that it was a third party purchase. Whether my credit card is floating around somewhere or not, who nows. There was no need to present either the card or a photocopy. On the website, be sure to enter the passengers name(s) where it asks for guests and your name and info for the contact info.

And yes, their prices are very reasonable, especially compared to here. Just makes me wonder how many million dollar plus bonuses we have to subsidize to fly in the US.

Another bit of advise is to call the credit card company before hand and let them know you will be buying an airline ticket in another country with your card so they just don't reject it immediately.

I was able to buy online from Cebu Pacific only once. The other times I have had to send the money to May and have her purchase the tickets.

I just booked the outgoing flight to Manila from Davao for the medical exam for my honey---very easy booking online with Cebu.

I used PAL to fly from Manila to Davao myself when I visited my honey in April-----no problems booking online for myself with PAL.

Seeing that PAL puts more hurdles when you purchase ticket for another, I think I will book the return flight on Cebu also. Fares are about 200-300 pesos lower than PAL for right now.

My wife is from Mindanao also...Ozamiz City. What part of Mindanao is your wife from?

What state will you two be living in?

When I bought my plane tickets for my travel to Mindanao (when I traveled over to bring my wife here) I sent the money to my then fiancee and had her purchase the ticket and then scan a copy and email to me. I reserved the flight online first with air philippines for a flight from Manila to Ozamiz City.

Good Luck to you
