I was wondering if someone could tell me for the DS-230 documents, do you have to send the originals of your birth certificate, marriage license in ? Or can you send exact photo copies, state that they are exact copies and bring your originals to the interview ? I was born in England and my parents made me a Canadian citizen after we had been here for 5 years, so I would presume that I would have to send those papers as well ? I am nervous of sending the originals in case they are lost.

NVC requires originals (unless you are opting for electronic processing). They will return your originals at the interview. Good luck!

EP was not in effect when I went through NVC last year but there is a guide devoted to the topic that might help. EP Guide

From what I understand you scan your documents, email them to NVC and bring originals to the interview. Good luck!

hmm i was under the impression, not to send any documents, but to bring them to the intrview?

That's how it works for a K-1, but the OP has applied for a CR-1 visa which is a much different process.
