It's an animated winnie the pooh holding a yellow balloon and floating over and bouncing on the words It's Friday.

I am so glad it's Friday. My niece got her first tooth this week and they say they come in sets of 4 so she's been fussy all day all week and I've had my enough. I'm ready for a relaxing weekend with Hubby at home.

Hubby will be off work soon then we're going swimming.

The first thing my 6-year old said to her brother this morning was: "Sup, dude"!!! I asked her where she heard that from and she said Planet 51 movie. I wonder why they include that kind of language in KIDS' ANIMATION movies. Not that it's not ok to talk like that for 'grown-ups' who choose to talk like that. But, kids should speak proper English/use proper words.

Yay for the weekend!! :luv:

Have a good day everyone!

LOL. "Sup dude" isn't proper but it isn't the worst thing a child could learn, lol. Wait a few years, there will be worse and you'll be wishing for the "sup, dude". :D My ex doesn't like the term "dude" either and he does get on my kids for using that term. I tell him, if that's the worst thing they say then be thankful.

I am not looking forward to any other worse words! LOL I dread the changes already. TV for now is the biggest challenge.

Her dad and I really use 'proper' language all the time, whether the kids are around or not. I knew for fact she did not hear that at home.

My kids have learned more colorful language from fellow classmates than from TV. Wait until the higher grades. You will be appalled at what they learn from each other.

Good Morning Ladies!!! Happy Friday!!

 TGIF!!! WOO HOO!!!!

It's a beautiful day! So glad hubby isn't working this weekend. Andrea we too, don't know what to do with ourselves since we will finally be home as a family. I think some walking around the lake or going to the zoo, a picnic and some swimming is in order.

Jeanne...silly! I was gonna do that but you beat me to it, dude  Btw the "feel" if Friday is awesome....wish it was EVERYDAY!

Aya I read your posted and I was just tickled. Welcome to America AND parenthood, honey! :P I agree with JVTA, "Sup, dude" isn't proper, but I personally have heard children say MUCH worse (almost on a daily basis working in a pediatric clinic). I would be thankful as well if that is the worst my son said. To be honest American English is a very unique language since there are many different variations and dialects....is there even such a thing as true proper English?

Anyhow, have a wonderful and safe weekend everyone!

Hi, Sharifah!

British English? :P J/K

I studied English Literature (British Literature for 3 years, American Literature for 1 year, translated literature in between) for 4 years at university. And what you speak at university, absolutely has nothing to do with daily life in an English-speaking country.

Happy Friday all! (F)

Aya...sup dude!!! I agree its not the worst words they could learn. We only let the kiddos watch Nick Jr.(and children movies we pick in Arabic)..no other channels at all and I will continue w/ this. When my SIL came she put on a few other kids channels and the fighting, kicking and bf/gf stuff on the other channels I'm not ok with. I explained that too her and all is good now. If she's ok w/ her son watching it when the twins are not around I'm ok w/ that. :star:

Although, Zain watches Super Street Fighter 4 while my husband is playing and he assumes the "Ready FIGHT!" stance while watching.:lol: Guess I'm not doing the best job of keeping the fighting away! LOL

What are the weekend plans?? I'm sleeping in!
