In the past if you call(at the low price of $16?) and get the email code the person handling email is very efficient at helping you. Is that no longer the case?

We've been unable to get through to the Embassy. Well, Rob reached them earlier and received the canned responses. I called the DOS and they told me they received the passport (DUH I knew that). Embassy is closed now I believe anyway, so, there isn't much to do but move the flight. Oh well, I tried.

Lesson to be learned:

NOA 1: Received 2-16-10

I've also read that if you email with your case number in the subject line, that can work as "the special code" and they will possibly reply. I've not tried it, I don't know.

I tried that a month or so ago. Got a bounce notice.

And you never got a reply? I've heard of others getting bounce notices, but still getting replies as well, that all emails get bounce notices regardless. But again, I'm just spouting hearsay here, I've not tried it myself, so yes, for future applicants reading this thread, if you must email, it's safest to call the extortion line and get the email code.
