Thank you for your time!

Here is my question- if i came here on a k1 visa and now i have a green card, how do i do to renew my passport?

In fact, i have researched a little bit and i found the list of the documents our embassy at Washington is requirring. The fee for that is $150, HOWEVER they say that for those who DO NOT have the inscription/stamp of "moving to the US with permanent residency" in the national passport must submit an extra $300 and some extra paperwork to receive a new passport.

Has anybody done it before? Does anybody know anything about it?

Renewal or Replacement Passport are not subject to other countries status. You as a citizen [of your country] have the right to get your document at any consulate authorized to issue this legal document.

My wife obtained her new passport because she wanted to have her new name in all documents, the consulate in NY did not charge any additional fees or required stamping documents proving residency.
