Hello Everyone and thanks for reading and helping with my post.

I'm wondering if anyone can tell me how to withdraw an application for immigration and citizenship in the Family Class category. Another question, how does this person know which USCIS office has his application?

thanks so much.

Sheila

If you contact their main office they will locate your file and assist you in withdrawing your application. Call the National Customer Service Center (NCSC) at 1-800-375-5283, you will have to fill out some paperwork and all your fees will be forfeited.

Thanks for the info. Do you know by chance if I can get the paperwork online and start filling it out?

As far as I know they do not post it, in some instances they are specific to the type of application filed, but in most cases they would just give you a confirmation number and you will have to write them a letter. The main reason for this is that they just want some kind of written proof, otherwise people would just be able to call and mess up someone else's case.

Fees will be refunded if application is withdrawn?

This interests me, but I doubt the US gov will give a refund when it has done some processing on a case

Once you have paid you have not recourse of ever getting any money back. When you withdraw an application they will simply just remove your application.
