Short skinny:

Developing and emerging economies make up about 50% of the world economy now. By 2030, they'll account for 60%.

The number of people living on less than a dollar a day has fallen 25% or 500 millions.

Some countries have reduced poverty nearly 50% over the last couple of decades.

BRIC (Brasil, Russia, India, and China) are setting a lot of precedents that advanced countries used.

So the world isn't coming to an end. It's actually getting richer and more peaceful. Today 60% of the countries in the world are democracies. Up from 25% right after WWII. Yay!
