additional processing at he NVC what does this mean?

My case went through AP at the NVC level. No one could ever really tell me why it was stuck in AP. Some said its for background checks, while I had one lady tell me at NVC when I called that there is no additional background checks on my case, but rather they can only send so many cases to the embassy’s at a time so they have to wait until the embassy request more cases. The senator’s office that I had involved at that time told me that they do quality checks and at random they pull peoples cases for that. I guess to make sure their workers are doing their jobs properly. Our case was under AP at NVC for around 17 days before it was forwarded onto the embassy. If your in AP now, don’t worry, it will be sent onto the embassy soon.

There are checks done on all cases for names on a bunch of restricted/banned parties list. If there is a hit then you have to wait while they show you/him aren't the person in question. Usually this is so quick no one notices it. They may also verify any data about YOU like divorces and criminal records check. It should not take more than a month. You may also get AP in Nigeria as they check on the validity of the relationship and his history more deeply. It seems they have gone back to the 6 month wait for an interview. Just a bump in the road before you spend years together.

I pray this is just a short while I am so ready to spend the rest of my life with my baby.....It may be because I was once married to a nigerian before and now I am divorced so hopefully that wont hold us up too much thanks for your knowledge and sharing it with me?
