I just got the rejection notice for my I-131 application for re entry permit they say because the date on check is not current.I can definitely make a new check.the last check was dated june 8.2010 when I mailed it june 10,2010 and the date i put in the form is june 10 2010 so do i put the date on the check the same date that i will mail it?so it would be current?

and my main question is do i just send back the original form I-131 and the supporting docs that they returned to me? or should I make a new one? and send it together with the new check with a current date?

all responses will be greatly appreciated thanks!

If they say the date on the check is not current then they are probably saying that the check is post dated, meaning the date on the check is AFTER the current date. Any chance you switched the numbers, and instead of writing "6/10/2010" you actually wrote "10/6/2010"? In the American way of writing dates, the second date would be October 6, 2010.

There is no requirement that the check be the same date as any of the documents. However, the date on the check must be BEFORE the current date or the bank won't cash it.
