I'm sure all of you can read my signature, where it shows detailed timeline and you can give me advice based on that.

First of all I'd like to thank Carol for helping me through e-mail, thank you Carol, you're very helpful and I always appreciate your advices (F) thank you!

Ok, I made an appointment for the medical for next monday, august 14th. It'll be 15 days after the NOA2. Charles called NVC and they still don't have our petition there, so I really don't know when they'll receive the petition and when they'll send to Rio, because only when that happens I'll have the RDJ number necessary for the medical to be done.

I've talked to the doctor's secretary, she said I can have the medical without the RDJ number but she can't finish and send me the sealed envelope without having the RDJ number.

So, since my appointment is monday, my question is, should I cancel and only have the medical after I know the RDJ number, or should I go ahead and then wait for the RDJ to give to the doctor?

Oh is there any way I can read their minds or buy a crystal ball to find out when NVC is receiving my petition and when they're sending to Rio?

No, really, I'm going insane here. I remember someone mentioned I don't know when something like the NVC already have our RDJ number even before sending it to Rio, or the RDJ number is created in Rio Consulate?

So many questions i'm going crazy pullingmyahairout.gif

Keep calling the NVC, they'll have the number and will be able to tell when they send it to Rio. The medical is valid for one year and you can use that exam for the AOS if you file within the expiration date, so that's up to you to know how long after the visa you'll get married and how long after you'll file for AOS.

Yes... it's probably better to reschedule so the medical doesn't pass the year mark?

The RDJ number is created at the NVC (It is a combination of the date, the day you were approved, and the number approved on that specific date). Since you medical is good for a year, I don't think it would be a problem having your medical next week. That way most of it will be completed and you will have one less thing to worry about. Looking at your timeline, your interview should be in the next few months (hopefully for you and the rest it will come quickly). Just make sure you are able to file for your AOS (the next long wiating game) within that year or you will have to have another medical.

We'll file for AOS right after we get married and we plan on getting married on nov 25 (if I'm there already), if by any chance I get there way before nov 25 we'll get married then before that date, so I'm sure the medical will be valid for our AOS, if not oh well I'll have another one, I'm not worried about that.

probably better to reschedule so the medical doesn't pass the year mark?

I'm not worried about the medical passing the 1 year, I doubt that will happen and if it does I'll have another medical in the US. My worry is I do the medical monday and the damn thing don't ever move from Cali to NVC and I can't give my doctor the RDJ number and then she'll ask me to pay another US$100.00 to another appointment you know?

Yes I'm trying to convince Charles to keep calling NVC, but he called monday and he said he'll only call again friday, oh well. Again, I'm not worried about the AOS, I doubt the date will expire. But thanks Laura (F)

Thank you, if the RDJ is created at NVC then I'm sure it won't be a problem having the medical next week, I'm counting NVC will have our petition soon, after all next monday will be 15 days after NOA2, and looking at other people's timeline, it can be 5-20 days from NOA2 to NVC received, so no problem.

I'll go to the doctor and give her the RDJ when I know what is my RDJ. She'll only send me the sealed envelope after it.

yup i'm going. Charles and I are hoping we'll get out petition in NVC until friday, if not it can't take too long, I've seen a lot of people who went throught IMBRA RFE, cases moved from Nebraska to Cali that got their NOA2 in july 31st and their NOA1 is from may, like a month after our NOA1 and their petition is already in NVC, so I'm sure we'll have the dang RDJ number soon.
