Hello everybody, this is my first time on the forum.

I arrived in the US on a K-1 visa on May 10th and married on June 1st. Being now ready to begin the AOS process I notice on the I-485 form that I have to "Submit Copy of NOA2 "Approval" for I-129F".

Unfortunately I personally never received an NOA2 approval, so cannot send a copy!

I would be grateful to anybody out there who has had a similar problem to point me in the right direction.

Many thanks, David.

Your wife should have recieved the NOA2. It's the document saying that her petition was approved. If she didn't get it either you can TRY calling USCIS to see if they will send you one (doubtful, but I did this...USCIS never issued an NOA2 to me, which was clear by checking the online system since it still said "initial review" even though my husband had the visa! Anyway, it took many calls to get someone competent who got it issued.) I have read that some people include other documentation and a letter explaining that they never received it, but I'm not sure how successful that is.

USCIS will probably tell you that you need to file the I-824 (I think that's the correct one) to get a new copy, and it costs $340 to file this. Hopefully your issue can be resolved without having to do that!

Dear Katie thank you for your reply.

I managed to get through to somebody at the USCIS The officer was very helpful and reccomended we apply for a copy using the form G639 which has no filing fee. I will keep the board updated on the success or otherwise of this method.

We also never received the NOA2. I wrote a letter saying that we have made several attempts at getting one including calling the USCIS offices. Also that it is obvious that the visa was approved because my wife is here, married, has a S.S.#, an A#, I sent them the letter from NVC saying that the visa was approved, a letter showing the interview date. We didn't get an RFE for this, but we did get one for some tax papers.
