Hello everybody I would like to to get your opinion on this subject. Up until last week, the father of my wife's kids had always said he would sign the permits so the kids could travel. Now that we have filed all the forms he changed his mind and he said he won't sign anything... I know we need to start a judicial process and this could take a while, if you had a similar experience please let me know as any advice will help.

Thanks

Gracias

I feel for you I really do. The mother of the boys signed the letter we sent to the NVC, without this letter or a court order they will not continue your case. Also the children from colombia when they leave with only one or no parent need a DAS thingy to be able to board the airplane in Colomia to anywhere. Here is a little more info from the colombian embassy here in the US. It is in Spanish

Minors Permission

Is your wife here in the US or in Colombia? maybe a few bucks to the DAD??? But remember the children ( Colombian Children ) will need permission to leave colombia each and every time they go back and leave

Why is it that the only one who can stop the crying is the one who started it in the first place?

We are going to try and talk some sense into that guy, I am just worried because this guy is basically using the kids to get back at my wife. It just seems to me that this guy is upset that my wife was able to get married and that she is happy now. This is not the first time he has done this, he has always use the kids as a way to mess with my wife... But anyway, we'll keep trying, and hopefully things will get better.

Thanks

As say NArock maybe a few bucks to the DAD??? . But your wife need get, I dont know word exactly in English but in Spanish is"La Patria Potestad 100% or a third person that be Family get his "Patria Potestad of he" as: sister, or family near o (that know her problem with he and can help to she in any time and place in Colombiamaybe a few bucks to the DAD??? ).

Judicial process take long time here in Colombia then you and she must work in form intelligent.

I have a friend that now living in uS and she got bucks to her ex-husband.

My child of 9 years old directly got documents DAS full for out Colombia to her dad. He sign, put finger with identification document and together went to Notary. She said to her dad that "it is better present that he give to she".

I hope you get lucky with it

We had the same problem with the paper for DAS. I am positive we did not have or need any papers from the dad for us to obtain a visa at the embassy for my fiance's son. The dad still keep giving her excuse's and wanting copies of the visa. We then decided to put him in a uncomfortable situation, I purchased a plane tickets for my fiance and her son. My fiance then meet him with her son and a few other family members placed all the papers on a table with the needed DAS papers and explained to everyone present the only thing stopping her son from traveling to the US was the fathers signiture. I am happy this worked because at this point he had refused my offer of money. I guess he could not look at his son and refuse him a chance like this. I hope you find a way to get him to sign the papers. I understand the stress level it creates and what your fiance must be going through. good luck.
