Long birth certificate Honduras

Hello everyone,

My husband and I submitted our I-130 in Feb and got out NOA1 on March 4th. We're still waiting for our NOA2 . I'll be leaving Honduras for a third country soon and I want to get all my paperwork ready for my interview. Thanks to this site I found out that I have to get the long form of birth certificate and marriage certificate. My question is: does any one know how much it costs? And, when you do the translation, do you do it yourself? Or does the translation have to come from a government official. I'm fully capable of translating all the documents and I really don't feel like paying the government for translations

Several people have translated the documents themselves. You just need to attach this to your translation:

Certification by Translator

I, ________ certify that I am fluent (conversant) in the English and Thai languages, and that the above/attached document is an accurate translation of the document attached entitled Certificate of Birth.

As to how much it will cost for the B.C., I have no idea. PLease come join us in the March 2010 CR1 filer's thread. We are all waiting for news as well.

100 lempiras is the cost, or at least what we paid. Don't pay anymore than that. That is enough to "grease their palms".

Catracho, how did you do your translations? I had the docs "certified" and then I translated them and took them to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. I did that with the short BC (I didn't know at the time that I needed the long version) but do I need to do that with the long version.
