So my fiancee finished her interview and successfully received her K1 Visa. YAY! However, we are not having the wedding until later in the year. We are hoping she can enter under the Visa Waiver Program first without using her K1 visa just yet. That way we can make plans and she can be her for a couple months before the wedding. Then she would return to her home country for a bit and come to the US for the wedding, at a later date using the K1 visa.

Is this possible? I understand that it is always up to the officer as to let her in or not, but is the worst they can do is send her back immediately? Is there any risk of our visa being cancel because of the visit? Can they force her to use the visa immediately.

It would be very nice if she could come visit right away, but we don't want to loose our K1 Visa either.

Can they force her to use the visa immediately.

Some canadians have been successful in this but it seems limited. Since you mention VWP it would appear she is not Canadian. So, Yes they can force her.... the outcome will likely be to refuse entry or admit as a K-1.
