I-290b Denied

I was asked to help someone tonight whose I-290b was denied because the USC signed the form rather than the applicant or an attorney. The USCIS cashed the check of course. Can this be re-appealed under the first check without submitting another $585?

to try to appeal without having to pay again, they can probably say that it was carelessness on their part but it was also (obviously) very unintentional and an honest mistake

Denied, if it was returned it would have been a simple matter of returing a corrected form before the deadline.

My suggestions were:

re-apply

consult with an immigration attorney

file another I-485

file for hardship (not sure of the success rate with this since you must have an affidavit of support for I-485)

Any of the three except consulting an attorney should delay removal proceddings.
