I am just filing out my DS 230 and I had a quick question...

The question that asks "List all dates of all previous visits to or residences in the US. Give type of visa status if known".

I am a CDN citizen so everytime I crossed, BP just looked at my passport, stamped it and let me across. My question is, what answer would I give to that question? The stamp in my passport, is it a "visa" type?

Thanks in advance!

Doh! I left out another question I wanted to ask...

Question 35 asks "List dates of all previous visits to or residence in the USA"

How far should I go back with that list? Some of my dates I can get from my passport stamps but I also crossed into the US when passports were not required and I totally do not remember the dates. Will that be an issue?

No it won't, many here have encountered the same thing. List as many as you can think of - but you don't have to go overboard, use the ones you have documented in your passport - then just put multiple visits of no longer than three months (or two weeks, or whatever your longest visit was ) :)
