So I just sent my I-129F package!

I'm relieved the first step is done... but how can I check my case status? I'm going to this site:

https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/Dashboard/ProcTimes/Locations.do

But I don't have a receipt number. Do I receive that when I get my NOA?

Thank you!

Heya welcome to the world of the K1 visa :) Once the I-129F has been received a letter (NOA1) will be sent to the USC with a file number on it. Once you have that then you can set up access to the USCIS website. The NOA1 is normally mailed out 3-5 days after the I-129F is received. Good luck :)

Hi, I paid my petition fee with a personal check. I used my online banking to verify when the check was cashed and was able to view a scanned copy of the front and most important the back of the check. I say important because on it is stamped your case number. With that I was able to set up my account at USCIS and sign up for email and text notification for updates. All this was done before I had the actual NOA1 in my hand. Hope this info helps and good luck
