Well, these are the vaccines she has to get in order to get her visa: TD, MMR & varicella. In order to get her AOS approved she needs these: Hepatitis A & Human papillomavirus (if she's under 26 years of age).

You can call either doctor to find out how much those specific vaccines are at their office and you can also call places like the Red Cross in Cali to find out how much they charge. If you think it's less expensive at the doctor's then wait to get them the day of the medical if you want. If getting them at the Red Cross is less expensive, then get them there BUT no more than 1 week before the medical because otherwise the doctors will say they're "too old" and make her get them all over again at their office, no ifs or buts about it. It's a plan to get more money out of you, so you have to outsmart them.

Once she gets the approved vaccine sheet from the doctors, do not lose it. I actually suggest making copies of it because you will need this in order to file AOS. Do not lose it or let the Immigration officer at point of entry keep it because then you're screwed.

My fiancee does not intend to bring her child (on going custody issue with the ex-bf). Does she need to do anything with the child in this process other than list him on the I-129F and explain to the CO that he won't be following?

Too bad to hear that. Yes, she should be truthful in listing her children. Hopefully she'll get custody AND the ex will sign a letter of consent for the child to leave the country.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Sounds like there are intentions to bring the child to the US. If that's the case, then perhaps applying for the secondary visa would be worthwhile in case the father has a sudden urge of benevolence towards the end.

Hi everyone,

After almost 6 months of waiting since issued their visas in Bogota, my girls are finally here! We had a long day of travel (left Margarita's house at 3:30am and arrived at our house 11:00pm), but we are so happy to finally be together. Thanks for all of your help. We'll be around in the aos section.

Good luck to everyone

john

Hey Colombia Club,

I am planning ahead of the interview at the embassy and was just wondering what do you guys think is good evidence of a genuine marriage? I'm thinking of bringing emails, letters, pictures, receipts of the money I've been sending her for her monthly. What else do you guys think would be of use to bring to the interview? Thanks for the help.

Sincerely,

Harold Paredes

Did you buy an engagement ring? If you did- that is much better than flat out saying you've been sending money on a monthly basis. Take a receipt of that. The rest is bolded and answered by you. Good luck!

Well this is a K3 visa so we are already married and our names and the date are engraved inside the wedding band and of course she will wear that at the interview. So do you think the other things will suffice? Thanks for the help.

Sincerely,

Harold Paredes

Oh my bad Harold. Yes. Any and all evidence you have will not only suffice, but speed along your interview. Under these circumstances, yes to the money transfer receipts as well. Buen esposo! :)

Do mention your engraves in the wedding bands. Some COs are suckers for that kind of evidence since they do like to feel good about so much love in the air.

Ok cool thanks a lot. We're currently waiting for the website to be updated and see if we do get the interview on November.

Harold,

We had our successful K-3 interview in June. We actually had at least 20 lbs worth of evidence including travel and hotel receipts, insurance paperwork, emails, chat transcripts and a full photo album printed on a color laser with captions for all the photographs. The only thing the CO cared to look at was the pictures. It was helpful that they were all carefully captioned with dates, locations and a description of the events and people in photos. We had a lot of photos with the two of us with her family and mine. The CO did say that it was good that I went to the interview and that I had been to see my wife so many times during our courtship, engagement and marriage.

Good luck getting an interview date soon.
