One step further? Make lobbying 100% illegal.

well, technically it is illegal in the aspect of 'perks.' - though we all know that's BS.

Lobbying is a very necessary balancing tool though, without the perks part though. Groups getting together and sending in a representative to plead their cases is very important. For people and for business.

Everyone wants to pussyfoot around the issue, but the real issue is that our government is horribly and completely corrupt. They are being corrupted by big business who want slave labor. If they can't get a job, then they won't come.

Your example is in the realm of the Republiclowns. Specifically that idiot Bush (his daddy too) and their cronies. Many Republicans and unaffiliated conservatives despised them for what they misguidedly and deceptively labeled as "compassionate conservatism" to push this idiotic, self serving agenda for their cronies.

The deal is...Bush and those idiots aren't driving the bus anymore. The Dumbocrats are. They have an equally idiotic agenda. It is called "cheap votes". They refuse to enforce existing law unless there is a mass illegal alien amnesty that gives millions of illegal foreigners access to eventual voting citizenship that will immensely benefit their party. Self serving and corrupt?

So who is being corrupt? Who is being screwed by their government either way? It's pretty obvious to me.

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

US Congresswoman Barbara Jordan (D-TX)

Testimony to the House Immigration Subcommittee, February 24, 1995
