Well i just wrote up a letter that i'm sending to my congresswoman. Hopefully she can do something. I'm just tired of feeling in limbo since i have no proof that i'm here legally. I mean i have the printout from uscis that i did apply for aos, but other than that..i have nada. i wont really feel at ease until i get that green card in the mail.

I would suggest you to write to the Senator and the Rep. Your follow-up alone may not do much. I recently wrote a letter to the congresswomen in my area and they assigned my request to someone within their office who deals with such requests. I spoke to that person in detail and explain my situation, frustrations, limitations, etc. She showed signs of compassion and hopefully is writing to USCIS.

You should ask them to help expedite the process and/or find out 'specific reasons' behind the delay.

Kimbear - great news! Glad to hear that the roller coaster ride has deposited you safely in green card land.

We had the interview today. The adjudicator totally good cop/bad cop-ed us, which was a bit unnerving, but we passed, and my email is showing me those beautiful words:

"Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Your Case Status: Card/ Document Production

On January 18, 2011, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283."

Wahoo!

Thanks for all your help and support through the ride!

Congratulations to you both!!

Kimbear--its incredible what a senator can do. You're application was probably lost in the system or something. The fact that the approval can come so quick since your senator spoke to them is incredible.

Yey!!! Welcome to America baby! :)
