Hey,

I sent out my AOS pack last month and i hope I can start applying for jobs soon.

Does anybody know a good company that evaluates my German "Erzieherin" (pre school teacher) Dergree?

To apply for Jobs is it enough to do a course- by -course evaluation?

And what Documents do these companies need?

Thanks for answering

There are many credential evaluation companies in the US. I posted a list with 5 or 6 of them several weeks ago. Search the forums here for the term "credential". It should come up.

The problem is that different licensing boards and employers each have their own preferences about which companies they accept and want you to use. In general, a course-by-course evaluation is sufficient for most purposes.

Because of this, and the fact that a course-by-course evaluation is fairly expensive ($150-$200 at least) you should not have a credential evaluation done until a licensing/certification board or potential employer specifically requests it. And then you use the company they tell you to.

Most credentials evaluation companies will only need a transcript. Some may require that the transcript be sent to them directly from your institution without you having received it first. It depends on the company.

In your specific situation, I would contact the state licensing authority for preschools and ask them where you should have your transcript evaluated. Depending on how preschools are regulated in your state, most employers may be more interested in whether or not you are certified by the local state licensing authority, and the state licensing authority will be the one who is interested in having your transcript evaluated.
