I have read that a letter from you bank is not required if you make well above the 125% poverty line, you have copies of your 2008 W2, 2008 tax returns, 2009 W2, 2009 tax returns, company check stubs, and a letter from your place of employment. Is this true?

If you are planning on using assets, then a letter would be needed.

If your income can satisfy the requirement - then all you need is to show that. (with the evidence you listed above).

Some embassies want more, so it would be a good idea to check their specific requirements, but that is what the State Department FAM states.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS

A letter from your bank is not necessary if your income is 125% above the poverty line, all that is requires is a letter from your employer, 2009 tax return and W2's.

I suggest you post your questions in the Jamaican forum since every consulate may vary. However to answer your question you do not need a letter from your bank, you're fine as long as you meet the poverty guidelines by 125% as the other user above mentioned, along with your most recent paystubs and w2's.
