has your relative ever been in the US?

Well do they mean visted or lived? Cause she visted plenty times but never had a visa or stayed "too long"

I'm irritated by the word "in" the US cause if she has been "to" the US she technically also been "in" :P

maybe I'm making it too complicated but i can only assume that it is a big difference (not that they are looking for records where there aren't any)

You are reading too much in to the question :whistle:

If she's ever been in the US as a visitor/student/whatever then check yes. If she hasn't, then check no.

No need to make it more complicated then it is, it's already complicated enough,haha!
