Multiple I-130s approved for same person

My wife filed an I-130 for her mom a couple months ago. It was approved last week. Then, my wife found out that a petition her uncle had filed for her mom and dad 30 years ago was approved just after she filed her petition.

So, it appears there are two pending cases at the NVC for her mom but based on separate petitions. It seems to me this could cause some confusion. Do we need to cancel one of these or will the NVC combine the two into one case?

07/17/2009 Interview Denver USCIS office RECOMMENDED FOR APPROVAL

08/28/2009 Naturalization Ceremony - US District Court - Denver, Colorado[/b][/u]

09/04/2009 Applied for passport

09/22/2009 Passport approved and mailed

09/24/2009 Passport received

08/26/2009 Naturalization Certificate and Name Change Petition arrive back from State Department

We have the same case. I petitioned for my mom and she has an appoved petition from her brother. I called NVC to ask if this will affect my petition to her, they said no because it's a separate petition. so no need to cancel or worry
