My fiancee's birth certificate and police background check is in spanish. Does she need to have them translated into english so the folks at USCIS can read them? Or can they read spanish?

From everything I have read, the embassy in Bogota accepts spanish documents. However, the birth certificate needs to be translated to english when applying for AOS when in the United States.

I needed to have everything translated and notarized, and would suggest the same lest it be requested later on.

For USCIS - foreign language documents need to be accompanied by a certified translation.

At the Embassy/Consulate level; Usually documents in the language of the host-country are perfectly fine (for example, a German birth certificate at the Frankfurt Consulate is no problem, but a German bc in Embassy in Bogotá may need to be translated.).

the embassy in Bogota accepts spanish documents, you don't need them in English for the interview.
