Hi Guys,

I just mailed my k1 petition (I-129F) to CSC yesterday. Was going through the copy of the paperwork for my records that I noticed I missed putting the Name of the employer on my G325A. I put down the address only. Now I am getting little worried.

Anybody knows what kind of problem this will cause?

From what I understand so far, if they send me an RFE, it could add months to the processing. Is that true? If that's the case I rather have the application returned to me so I can refile. That will cause a delay of only a week or so.

Also, anybody knows what's a more realisting average time from file to visa issue is for a fiance coming from India? Not the time listed on USCIS. I want to know from peoples personal experiance.

1/20/10 - Met first time.....Yes arranged by family....Instant Connection

1/31/10 - Got Engaged

2/05/10 - Back to US and playing the Phone Game

4/20/10 - I-129F Sent

4/21/10 - NOA1

4/22/10 - Check Cashed

That should not be an issue at this stage.

You may wish to get a new one ready - and send it to your beneficiary, then they can give them the updated one at the interview. (we did that because of address change).

Yes - RFE's can add more time to the process, depending on how fast they get your RFE back and how fast they work on it. (They give themselves 60 days to do so).

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

First, dont worry. Its not that big of a mistake, and its not really a very essential form. They'll ask questions about it at the embassy if they notice it then.

I had the same problem, but i had VSC. Actually, my mistake was not signing the form. A much bigger deal than not listing the name of an employer. Its was my fiancee's form though, which ive heard really can be signed later if it wasn't before.

Really, from what Ive seen, an RFE should only add about a month onto the processing time, at VSC at least.

However, i didnt want to take any chances. What we did was fill out a new G-325, and made a new cover letter explaining the error and the changes made and then sent that off to VSC with our USCIS receipt number on the cover letter. But really, I don't know if they ever even got it.

Our case was approved in 2 months with no RFEs.

Here's the cover letter we made with specific information edited out:

Nature of the submission: I-129F G-325a Form Replacement/ Correction

To Whom It May Concern:

Enclosed please find my Form G-325a, Biographical Information for my Fiancee- princess, Pending our current I-129F petition.

Contents include:

- Corrected G-325a form for Benefitary: princess

Reason for correction/ differences from original:

The original G325a submitted for princess contained an error under ‘Applicant’s employment last five years’. The form enclosed shows the proper answer.

The orginal G325a submitted also lacked answers under both applicant’s signature, and applicant’s name in native alphabet. The reason for all errors were oversight. I would also like to remind the adjudicator that, even though the original G325a was unsigned, It should not be grounds for an RFE, under the USCIS memo stating that the foreign fiancee’s G325 need not be signed. However this oversight was mostly corrected for simplicity and peace of mind.

Thanks!
