So I was checking on the status of my case with NVC's AVR and it informed me that the NVC is awaiting the return of the biographic forms from the petitioner. This is something that I dont think I have read about before anyone know what this is all about?

Also quick question regarding the documents that go with the DS 230, I am referring to the birth certs, police certs etc, does the NVC return those to me or send them to the embassy? I ask b\c I am assuming these same certs will need to be taken to the interview correct?

Thanks again

I had the same question. But i am not sure if i still understand what happens to the original certificates.

Do i understand it correctly that DS230 part 1 goes to the NVC with all the original certs, and NVC then transmits the same originals to the Consulate which are then returned to the applicant at the time of interview. Is this process just for cr-1/ir-1 cases or does Family 4 (F4) follow the same route.

DS-230 Part 1 and Part 2(unsigned) is returned to the NVC with all originals + copy of each. Yes, the NVC sends to the Consulate. The originals are returned at the interview. I assume this is the same for the F4 if you're completing a DS-230.

Nothing is returned to you by the NVC. Any forms/documents you sent to NVC are not mailed back to you. When you go to the interview, the CO will have the forms you sent and will ask you to sign it. The CO will return all the originals to you at the time of your interview.
