lacs and crores in american english are lacs and crores and rupees and still rupees.

However most people in the US will have no clue what you are talking about in relation to lacs and crores, while most have heard of rupees.

There is no simple US term in US currency that equals these, you need to use a currency converter or calculator to perform the conversion from this currency to USD.

And dont confuse a Lakh with a lac

so what is lacs and crores in american english? i do not know.thank you

I think this is what you are looking for.

As is standard in Indian English, large values of Indian rupees are counted in terms of thousands, lakh (100 thousand = 105 rupees, in digits 100,000), crore (100 lakhs = 107 rupees, in digits 10,000,000) and arawb (100 crore = 109 rupees, in digits 1,000,000,000). The use of million or billion, as is standard in American or British English, is far less common.

For example, the amount INR 3,25,84,729.25 is spoken as three crore twenty-five lakhs eighty-four thousand seven hundred twenty-nine rupees and twenty-five paise. The modern rupee is subdivided into 100 paise.

The OP is talking about different ways of counting not converting currencies.

here is how you will count it the Indian way

10crores, crores, 10lacs, lacs, 10thousands, thousands, hundreds, tens, ones (10,00,00,000 in numbers)

Here is how you will count it english way

100millions, 10millions, millions, 100thousands, 10thousands, thousands, hundreds, tens, ones(1,000,000)

so 1 lac is 100 thousand

10 lacs is 1 million

1 crore is 10 million

10 crores is 100 million and so on

Hope this helps
