Hi everyone!!

So from what I can tell this document I-131 is used for the AP (Advanced Parole), the document grants the individual the right to re-enter the country without the green card for a specified trip? In this case Tatiana has no plans to travel abroad, probably till after she actually receives the green card. However, as I am paying for this anyway due to the new fee structure, I still would like to have this for a "just in case" situation. But, how would you go about filling out the supplemental or even the I-131 without putting any dates or scheduled/planned trips? Is there a provision for this and I am just missing the instructions?

I don't see how it is valid, but I do want to file it for a just in case. If however, it is easier to just leave it out of the AOS packet and when and if she needs it could I then file for the AP and no pay??? Just wondering the best course of action!

Thank you!

You would put "TBD" for the dates, and you could write a short summary, "To be used for unforeseen future travel prior to the issuance of the green card."

Your correct - you can file for the AP after you get the NOA for the AOS. You just need to show proof of the AOS (the NOA is used) and it will be no cost - but I would recommend to just go ahead and file them together.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.
