Hi, I'll be sending in my I-129F soon but wanted to find out about my (the USC) birth certificate. I still have the certified and notarized copy of my long form birth certificate that was given to my parents at my birth. I was wondering if I can just make a copy of this or will I need to go get a certified copy to send in with my petition.

A photocopy will do. I didn't send a copy of my birth certificate (it was misplaced)

with my I-129F but sent a photocopy of my current passport instead.

I've found it since that time (the orgininal and other copies I had).

For the AOS I had to send a certified copy of my marriage certificate,

for which NYC gets $25 each.

Yes you can just send a photocopy of the birth certificate. However I skipped my birth certificate since I was not born in the USA. I just sent a photocopy Naturalization Certificate and photocopies of pages of my US Passport.

CR-1 Visa Was Approved :-)

Entry Date to USA: 2/3/2011

12-10-2012 - Sent off I-751 packet visa USPS

I751 Was approved - 10 Year GC was granted

N-400 Progress

4/10/2014: Package Mailed
4/11/2014: Package Received
4/14/2014: Notice Date
x/x/2014: Biometrics appointment
