The congressmans office just forewarded this email to me.....

Thank you for contacting VisaNet. We checked our Consular records and found that the immigrant visa application is currently undergoing administrative processing in order to verify the applicants qualifications for this visa. Administrative processing often lasts about 90 days, but in some instances, it can take several months or even years longer.

Consulates must adjudicate visas in accordance with the provisions of the law, and in some cases this involves extensive administrative processing. We cannot predict when this processing will be complete, but we are aware of the applicants concern. We will do all we can to see that the visa is adjudicated as soon as their qualifications have been verified.

We hope that this information is helpful, and we regret that our response cannot be more substantive at this time.

ARE THEY FIXING TO DENY MY VISA??? Whats going on? I sent them the additional documents they asked for.. and how much longer am I going to be stuck in this dark void for?

:ranting:

In the fell clutch of circumstance

I have not winced nor cried aloud.

Under the bludgeonings of chance

My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears

Looms but the Horror of the shade,

And yet the menace of the years

Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,

How charged with punishments the scroll.

The documents they requested were:

SA police clearence (original..I thought they had it, they didnt)

Canadian police clearance (original..see above)

Daughters CRBA and birth certificate

Joint Sponsors 2008 taxes.

I sent it all (well the taxes might be iffy, see yesterdays post).

Im I seriously looking at a few more YEARS??

Umm, no it's not.

Sounds like you got a canned response, I would ask the congressman's office to contact them again - not good enough.

She has emailed them again, to find out what they heck they are talking about. Said I might hear back from her next week..which isnt very promising, she kept calling my husband Todd instead of Rod..ARG.

That is complete BS. Like T-mix said, it sounds like a generic response they just generate to get the person doing the inquiry to go away.

I would try not to freak out to much about the "qualifications for the visa" thing. It really can mean anything. In this case, it probably just means they need documents from you to verify your qualifications, which you sent, and they probably haven't bothered opening the package and putting the paperwork with the file.

So basically, the e-mail should say, "we really have no idea what's going on because we're so behind on our work and haven't actually worked on this case for a few months."

Lame.

I hope its nothing serious.. Im so worn out by this process. 3 years later you'd think theyd have all the evidence they need. :crying:

You'd think your willingness to wait three years is pretty good evidence that you're marriage is legitimate. If you didn't love each other and truly want to be together I'm sure you would have walked away a long time ago.

I dont think these people care much about "love" and "togetherness". Which is retarded, because thats what you are trying to prove through this process. I guess I should just prepare myself for another long haul. We made our way through the USCIS and NVC in 3 years.. maybe it will only take another 3 to get through montreal...

Coraliesolms-I agree with you....:)

They don't care...All they care about is money and rules and paperwork...

And yet, lives are in the midst, families are being separated, people are getting lost in the paperwork and files, and people getting stressed out and going broke....

Sad, really...

And while all this is happening, incompentency and inefficiency are definitely evident....

While other major issues and flaws within the government are still not being solved....

Nevertheless, in the long scheme of things...The only thing you have to prove is to your family and loved ones...The heck with the immigration....lol....

And by going through this long and frustrating process, that goes to show something, doesn't it? (L)....

And I hope too, that you continue to show this love to your family, by not giving up!

So don't give up, Coraliesolms!

Keep on 'nudging' your elected officials to help you with your case! You deserve better answers, especially since you've ben waiting for so long....

You've made it this far, and you'll continue to make it! :star:

Good luck. I hope you get this sorted out soon.

We checked our Consular records and found that the immigrant visa application is currently undergoing administrative processing in order to verify the applicant’s qualifications for this visa

Can someone clarify this?? I thought the applicant was the USC and the beneficiary was the immigrant??

The USC is the petitioner

The SO is the beneficiary of the petition as well as the applicant for a visa...
