I didn't know the schedule was up already. Wow  75 ppl scheduled for CR1 Visa's. Well because the schedule is up, I think we officially did not make the May interview.

Sach said she tried asking the Embassy for an earlier date & they told her they are booked & I don't think that would work in my case neither.

Well, now f*** (sorry for the french) it! We didnt make it for the May interview so no point of harassing the operators as hope slipped out the window. But will call AVR often to see if anything changes. This is officially a bad day! :crying:

Ohhh I'm soooo sorry to be the bearer of bad news :( like i said, maybe u can tell them that you are a new mother and cite urgency. also, it may be possible that this is not the finalized list. after all, people do cancel for whatever reason...hope you get thru and can make a case for urgency...

I got a LOT of organizing stuff done today. Reserved the hotel in Bombay, bought airline tickets online as well. Bought new, pretty colorful folders for the evidence. Printed out tons and tons of emails. Albums for the photos. Feeling very productive. My VFS packet is nearly ready for submission. Waiting on the medical report.

Now, I just need to print out the chat logs and text messages from 2008 (sorry, dear trees) and wait for Mr. Sachinky to send out his package this week.

I'm ready to get this show on the road!

Good luck to everybody!

May the FORCE be with you.

Hey Sach, what's this whole submitting docs to VFS bizness? y'mean there's another whole level of bureacracy to deal with??? i thought NVC sent ur whole packet to the embassy, after they're done, no?. do we have to fill more f'in paperwork??? i just wanna be prepared for what's coming down the road!

Indian beneficiaries:

You will need to submit a list of documents to your local VFS 10-15 days before your interview. They will forward it to the consulate so that the CO has some time presumably to review your files before the actual interview.

This is what I was asked to submit by the Calcutta VFS--

DS230, Part I and II.

Interview Letter.

Marriage Certificate. (Photocopy)

Police certificates. (Photocopy)

Birth certificates. (Photocopy)

Rs. 387/- DHL courier fees.

Medical Report.

2 US Passport size pictures.

Original Passport.

Photocopy of EVERY page of the your passport.

In addition I will be submitting a new I864 prepared by my husband AND some bonafide evidence, if they are willing to take them. Also, do NOT let them open your medical report even if they say it's okay to do so.

Hi Sachinky,

I wonder why do we need to submit DS230 form again (because DS230 is submitted to NVC - forwarded to consulate)

Any ideas ?

Thanks

They want updated forms for the interview.

And also, this is just my educated guess but from what I understand NVC sends most of your stuff -- your main package -- electronically to the consulate. So all the forms and stuff are available to them on the computer. The packages that we are tracking on DHL are probably envelopes containing our original documents that will be returned at the conclusion of the interview.

They need the DS230 so that you can sign it at the time of the interview in front of the CO.

I am not so sure about this but will submit it to VFS anyway if that's what the packet asks for. We are already submitting the DS-230 part 2 unsigned to NVC so that we can sign in it at the interview.

No update on my interview date yet.

I assume every regional VFS has different requirements. I'm just reporting on what the Calcutta VFS told me.

However, the DS230 seems to be generally asked for by all VFS offices.

Thanks sach. very helpful! ok here's the tricky question - my wife's passport is less than 6 months old (she got it oct 23rd 2009). according to chennai and most other embassies, you only need a PCC from the local passport office (cuz they basically do a police clearance on you when they issue the passport). if older than 6 months, then you need 1 from BOTH the passport office AND 1 from your local police station. so we got 1 from the bangalore passport office and have sent that in. as of april 23rd, OTOH, the 6 month period will be up. so for the VFS submission (which will be in May/June), do you think we should get the one from the local police stattion as well. to be on the side of safety, i keep pestering my wife to get 1 from the local office as well.

also, my wife has a valid birth certificate. but i think it would be a good idea to get her SSLC as well. for the VFS, do you think we should get the SSLC also, or not worry about it.

Yes, I would recommend you get the other PCC as well. You're looking at a June interview right now so you'll have enough time. Make sure to attach copy of the PCC you have. That seemed to significantly speed up mine.

Sorry, no idea what the SSLC is.

I would really recommend getting the regional police certificate too. SJ's case was very similar. When NVC started reviewing his DS-230 packet I think he had just crossed the 6 month mark by a few days and they issued him an RFE for the regional PCC. However you still have couple of weeks before you hit that mark and hopefully it won't be a problem at NVC. But I will definitely have it handy for the interview.

Its still such a mystery WHAT exactly the SECOND week of April is.. last week was first? or this week first? oh jeez. I still think the operators are just trained to say that - so many people got case completes middle of last month (after scheduling cut off for April) and didnt have to wait until second week of April to get May interview dates... just another crazy thing we gotta decipher huh guys?!

Im stressed out! i thought after the case complete from the NVC then everything will be ok . It will be easy . But I am wrong. I cant believe that they havent forwarded our case yet! They keep telling me and my hub to wait 2nd week of April bec they set an appointment very second week. What the hell!!!! THEY MOVE LIKE A TURTLE!!!!! gRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!! :crying::angry:
