My fiance is coming over to visit for three months. The finances we have handled with a letter of support from me and his own banking information. My only hick up in his visit is, that he has little to nothing to tie him over there. Doesn't own anything, doesn't pay rent and his children are grown. His employment is of his own business.(That he can take anywhere.) He does have grandchildren and other family there that are much involved within his life. I am wondering if we were to get letters from them of his intent to return, would that be any help going through customs. Any other suggestions would be welcome. Also if I had to, I could go ahead and file our application for the K1 visa if getting the NOA1 would help any. But would wonder at how fast we would get the NOA1 and would we get it before his trip over here in 22 days.

You can stand me at the gates of hell, but I wont back down.

If you can, I'd definitely file your K-1 petition. You've got 22 days, which is normally enough time to mail, have delivered logged, check cashed and get your NOA1.

If you use a check, when it's cashed you can get your petition number from the back of it. Even if your NOA1 takes a little longer than usual to arrive in the mail, you can at least show a case number.

Where does he live, to not pay rent or own anything?

He actually has lived with his folks for years. They like to go about quite a bit and having him there to care for the home is handy. Seems to work for them both well. I had even thought of them issuing him a lease of some sort but am not sure how that would or if it could help or work.

Now am wondering too, If a letter from my Surgeon would help any. This is why he is coming over again to stay with me while I recoup.
