Lebanese Passport holder wants to travel to Europe

Hello MENA peeps,

I have a question for a customer of ours, who would like to come to Germany to attend some meetings with our headquarters there.

He is a Lebanese passport holder, has a GreenCard, is married to a US citizen and has kids. He has been in the US for quite a while, first as a student, now he works for a very big and well known US company.

He talked to the German embassy (in San Francisco, I believe) but the lady told him it would be difficult for him to get a Schengen visa. I find that hard to believe, why would he be refused a visa?

Does anybody have any experience with Schengen visa? Where to go and what to do to get it? I have heard it's easier to go through some EUR countries' embassies than others, but obviously I don't want to make him do something that's illegal or even frowned upon over there.

If anyboy has any advice it would be greatly appreciated!

Unfortunately, Lebanese passport doesn't give you access to any country without a visa. Would be really easier with a US passport.

He's going for work purpose, so all he has to do is go to a German embassy and ask for a visa (I donno if they have a short period work visa).

If he shows proof that he is goin for business, I don't know why it would be hard for him to get a Schengen visa.
