Hey!

Long time!! Del and I have officially gotten our interview date and I'm going through everything today to see if we're on the right track.

I read on here about how before you'd receive an interview date that they would send you a packet with the forms to fill out and also after you filled them out and sent them back would they send an interview date. Well, the process has obviously changed so now I'm confused.

We submitted our I-130 on January 19th, and last week got an appointment letter with date and all. The letter is very very brief and doesn't explain what we have to do next at all. All it says is go to their website and read carefully everything there. It doesn't say we have to mail them ANYTHING before the interview. So I started to read what was on the website (http://www.embaixadaamericana.org.br/index.php?action=materia&id=2416&submenu=rio.php&itemmenu=58) and in the "instructions for IV applicants" it says "please send all completed DS-230's to the address on the front of this envelope". What does that mean!? Should I just ignore that because that letter didn't come in an envelope but is rather on a web page? Or do I need to send them?

I think I don't need to send them anything before our interview because they didn't say that at all in the letter about the interview. All they said was read what it said online.

Any ideas???

Yeah, the same paper also says that "the unit will contact you with an interview date after it receives your DS-230". I guess this paper is just out of date, but I just don't understand why they didn't give us more information in our packet, it's literally two pages. One with the date and with the their website that says "read" and that's it!!

Anyone else have this same experience?

Hey how are you? I know this post is like a year old, but I'm going through the same thing and could use some help. I got my interview date for rio and saw online the forms and stuff that is needed. Did you end up sending the ds230 and 2001 in the mail or did you just bring everything on the day of the interview? Thank you so much for your help! =)
