Thanks I will forward the information to her. Hopefully she will be able to get by without to much of a problem due to lack of English on her part.

All LOT flight crews speak Polish\English.... as for the POE, if it is a problem, then an interpreter will be found

YMMV

I am just about to come in via JFK in less than 10 days

please can I get advice on these:

how do I get the SSN & Temp EAD?

where at the Airport do I request for them? do I just ask the customs?

do I have enough time to clear customs and still go for the SSN & Temp EAD?

is there a closing time for the office that issues the SSN & work stamps?

are there items prohibited or not to be brought into the US?

eg electronics, food etc.

as I intend bringing my hard drives and drivers/visuals and maybe DVD player unless advised otherwise

please advise

thanks

A quick note about the I-94 form...

When my fiancee got hers from the cabin crew on the plane, they gave her the green I-94W form after we repeatedly asked for the white I-94 form. This person actually tried to argue with us on this point saying we needed the green one. Be sure to get the white one. If you don't get it on the plane, you should be able to get it near where you queue up for entry through immigration. There were a few people we saw get sent to the back of the queue to fill out the correct form because the silly cabin crew incorrectly instructed the passengers to use the wrong one.

The green I-94W forms are no longer used - they became redundant due to ESTA and were phased out in 2010 (certainly for flights using Atlanta as a POA).

I certainly do - but why shouldn't the information it contains stay up to date? ESPECIALLY as the thread was brought back to life by yesterday (by MistyTom) - and could therefore be read by newer members who may want, and benefit from, current information.
